Not only the fantastic Andean landscape, the Cordillera Occidental, invites you to vacation in the Republic of Peru. Located on the west coast of South America, according to educationvv, the country of Peru has many sights. Even the capital of Peru, Lima, presents itself to visitors with a varied cityscape. Buildings worth seeing, such as the Iglesia de San Francisco, shape the image of the capital.
The landscape in Peru is also characterized by historical sights, with many sites still very well preserved or telling stories from another time. For example, these are the ruined cities of Machu Picchu and Chan Chan.
Visitors to the country can discover the natural beauties in the numerous national parks, of which the Manu National Park has been declared a World Heritage Site.
Many know that there are some national parks and protected areas for flora and fauna in Peru. But only a few know the animals that are protected there. For example, seagulls and terns live in Peru as we know them from Europe. Lizards, seals and penguins are also found in the coastal region. The scorpions are less dangerous than they are thought to be, they are only aggressive when they are threatened. In addition, alligators, jaguars, pumas and parrots as well as flamingos are native animals in Peru.
Visitors of Peru will find admiringly that the flora and fauna are really impressive here. The world of flowers and plants in Peru is extremely diverse and colorful. The colorful and sometimes large flowers of the most varied, exoticflower in the rainforest are particularly beautiful. Here there are huge plants, large rubber and wonderful mahogany trees. The vanilla plants impress every visitor. The most famous plant in Peru is the cantua. This is a shrub that can grow up to 3 meters tall and blooms in a bell shape. The dry regions on the coast of Peru, on the other hand, are only overgrown by bushes and grasses.
Best travel time for Peru
Peru’s tourist season is between June and August, in the dry season of the Andean highlands. It is also the best time for activities such as hiking or mountain climbing. While the highlands can be visited year round, the wettest months from December to March make trekking a muddy affair. Many of the great festivals in Peru are held in the humid season.
Locals mainly visit the coast during the sunny, humid months from late December to March. The rest of the year the coast is shrouded in fog. It is very humid in the eastern rainforest. The wettest months are December to May, but travelers visit the region all year round as it rarely rains for more than a few hours and the sun shines the rest of the day.
